Blog post on Perfect World clan’s struggle stirs hornets’ nest
Thanks to a well-placed article on the website of Perfect World Philippines, my clan, the Guardians, is again at the center of tirades from ill-meaning rival clans, and the source of the article, Inquirer.net’s hackenslash is, I guess, enjoying heavy traffic as a result.
Here’s an excerpt from the original article written by Relly Carpio:
For the third straight week, the Guardians clan of the Perfect World Tiger Server survived another slew of attacks by the three other major clans on the server. Surprisingly, they were able to add another territory to their roster of lands in the face of the assaults.
hackenslash was contacted last week by a founding council member of the Guardians clan to speak about the siege on their territories. “We have been under constant attack from Exiled, Kairus and Legacy, not to mention their extensions.”
Based on data posted on the Perfect World forums, Guardians fought a total of 11 Territorial Wars the other weekend. The maximum amount of battles that can be set weekly for a clan in Perfect World.
Read the article and tell me if you find anything wrong with it. After going through it several times, I’ve identified several points of contention:
1) the story makes it seem that an officer of our clan contacted hackenslash to whine about our travails;
2) that the content of the story is based solely on what this officer told the author;
3) and that the Guardians is bragging about its victories in Perfect World’s GvG (guild versus guild) system dubbed “Territorial Wars.”
What do you think about the story? I want to hear from outsiders. By outsiders, I mean not in the clan and not playing Perfect World. I’m just curious if this little stint from one of our officers deserves cheers or jeers.

I’m surprised that a major local blog like Hackenslash would print something like this. It’s not really major news, frankly. Must be a slow news day.
No offense meant to your clan, but I think the blog/news site has better stuff to write about.

It’s actually drawing a lot of curious spectators to the blog.
Last time I checked, there were about 77 comments on this particular post alone.
Not bad for a week-old blog post.
