RF Online Crimson Dawn is now online

As of this writing, Level Up! Games, the Philippine publisher of hit MMORPGs like Ragnarok Online, Fly For Fun, and Perfect World, is patching Rising Force Online.

Here’s the official announcement from good friend Mon Macutay, a manager at Level Up! Games:

The eagerly anticipated patch of RF Online Philippines, Episode 2, Part 2: Crimson Dawn, is set to go online anytime today (February 26, 2008). We’re going to have a slightly extended downtime as we prep the servers and test everything before we give the thumbs up for the “New Beginning” in Novus.

Whew! Fortunately, I’ve already downloaded the patch a couple of weeks ago in anticipation of this very day since I won’t be able to connect to the game if I don’t install it. Of course, the old version of the game, Episode 2, Part 1, must be uninstalled. You’ll find the patching details here.

So what can we expect from this?

Well, improved race specialties for one. Apparently, each race has developed super weapons to help them in the race wars raging on Novus, the name of RF Online’s world.

The Accretians, a race of cybernetic warriors, have developed the Ephocal Siege Kit to further enhance the destructive power of their launchers. These new implements of pain, which come equipped with defensive and offensive enhancements, are available at the Combat Supply Crafter NPC located at the Novus Tree in the Elan Plateau.

Here’s quick rundown of the siege kit’s bonuses:

• 40% Increase in attack
• 10% Increase of HP/FP
• 10% Increase in defense
• Accuracy increased by 20
• Defense Epochal Siege Kit
• 10% Increase in attack
• 20% Increase of HP/FP
• 40% Increase in defense
• Accuracy increased by 20

The Bellato, on the other hand, have improved on the design of their Mobile Assault Units (M.A.U.). The effect: the Red Goliath and the Desert Catapult, which can be purchased from the Bellato HQ Mau NPC.

Of course, the Corites also have something up their robe sleeves: the Blood Isis, a new breed of Animus, and Sealed Animus, smaller versions of the originals with the same power.
