Perfect World: Arrrgh! Elite Purple Dragon in Fei Wei again!
Ever since the opening of the Dusk Palace, I have seen the Elite Purple Dragon, a mid-level boss monster flying around twin mesas in Dragon Land, lured to Fei Wei, the closest town to the new instance dungeon. While nothing’s really wrong with luring boss monsters to wherever (hey, it’s your butt), there’s definitely something wrong with the act when the intention is to wreak havoc on other players, especially those who have gone AFK (away from keyboard).
Needless to say, this is an offense and, in some virtual worlds being operated by online game publishers, it is called griefing.
Here’s an official description of griefing from our friends at Level Up! Games, publisher of Perfect World in the Philippines:
Griefing is defined as a continuous attempt to destroy another player’s gaming experience by constantly attacking monsters that that player is already attacking, incessantly killing a quest monster repeatedly so that other players would not be able to finish their quests, blocking access to any location or NPC, or any other similar activity.
This immature prank, that of luring Elite Purple Dragon to Fei Wei town, is fast becoming more than a nuisance. In fact, a lot of players have already expressed their disgust, with some even posting screenshots of the perpetrators.

Here’s a personal message to the GM team of Perfect World: I’m aware that players need to file customer support tickets and evidence to exact justice on perpetrators, but with the mounting complaints, the least you can do is pay a visit to Fei Wei (covertly, of course) to see for yourselves how often griefing happens. Then maybe, just maybe, you’ll be prompted to do something—anything!—about it.
Oh, speaking of screenshots, my wife and I took screenshots of a Yao Shou (werebeast) luring Elite Purple Dragon to Fei Wei town. We submitted it directly to the persons in charge and nothing happened.
