MMORPG video: Cabal Online Philippines

by Joel on May 15th, 2008

For those who missed it, IP e-Games, a Philippine publisher of online games such as RAN Online, Supreme Destiny, and O2Jam, among others, released a teaser trailer for its newest baby, Cabal Online.

From the amount of news we’re getting about Cabal Online, which is currently in its open beta stage, IP e-Games is keeping tight lid on developments in the game. We just hope that when this highly anticipated MMORPG opens its doors commercially, players won’t be left groping in the dark. Judging from the feedback we’ve been getting, I’m sure players from other, more established MMORPGs are itching to see if the shoe fits.

Well, for the moment, we really can’t do anything but wait. Here’s a video (yes, the very same video IP e-Games released to whet the appetite of the local MMORPG market) to while away the time.

eya joel. would it be alright if you wrote an article on your cbt experience in cabal online? i would be particularly interested on graphics (of course, who isn’t), the skill and job systems, and the levelling system (whether it caters equally to solo play and party play). i guess to properly describe these elements, perhaps comparisons would be helpful. i would particularly appreciate it if you could compare its graphics vis-a-vis RF or tantra, its skill and job systems to ran, rf or lineage, and its levelling system to ran.

since my experience with ran, i’ve always been cynical of how e-games run their mmos. in ran for example, every move you make, if you want to make something out of it, you have to spend. you can’t properly sell your wares if you don’t buy a shopcard, and at mid-levels, you won’t get decent xp if you don’t buy their hourly rosaries (you’d become a slave to the game since rosaries expire regardless of your game time). to me, these things are pretty basic and having realized this, ip e-games (profit-oriented guys that they are) takes advantage of this. im afraid of having to face-up to the same system in cabal.

in any case, do keep us posted with regard to developments in cabal.
