Run Online: Yes, it’s casual, but it’s online

by Joel on July 13th, 2008

No, it’s not a typo. There really is a game out there called Run Online, an online 3D racing game from Moliyo, developer of full 3D engine MindPower, and it’s slated for release in the market by the third quarter of 2008.

But what exactly is Run Online? Well, this online racing game is based on an activity called Parkour where the aim of every participant is to move from one point to another as efficiently and as quickly as possible using just the human body and the abilities it possesses.

How exactly did Moliyo adapt the objectives of Parkour into this game is beyond me. Check out this video of the game:

Yes, Run Online’s objectives seem a bit vague. This is, of course, based on an observation of the six-minute video. So let’s turn our attention to Moliyo’s latest press release announcing the release of the game in the third quarter of this year:

Moliyo adopted Parkour as theme, and developed a 3D racing game, Run Online. The game features strong street style and cartoony graphics, where players run through cities and buildings around the world using cool actions. There are also doodled walls, pop music, photography system, which make the game more fashionable.

In addition, there are currently three unannounced MMORPGs under development in Moliyo. As revealed by Mai Zhifeng, supervisor of development from Moliyo, the company was planning to be a full-orientated (sic) entertainment service provider cross strait (sic).

I don’t know about you, but that left me even more confused. I guess we need to wait for Run Online’s release in the third quarter of 2008 to really know more about the game.
